Data Deletion Request

Kenya Auto Bazaar Association respects your privacy and gives you control over your personal data. Use this page to request deletion of your data from our WhatsApp service and related platforms.

⚠️ Important: Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please read this page carefully before submitting your request.

What Data Will Be Deleted?

When you request data deletion, we will remove the following information:

  • Your personal information (name, phone number, email)
  • All WhatsApp message history with our service
  • Your car buying/selling preferences and requirements
  • Gate fee payment records (except where legally required to retain)
  • Marketing preferences and consent records
  • Profile information from our platform
  • Any photos or media you've shared with us
Note: We may be required to retain certain information for legal compliance, tax purposes, or fraud prevention. These exceptions will be clearly communicated to you.

How to Request Data Deletion

Method 1: WhatsApp Message (Recommended)

Step 1: Send a WhatsApp message to our business number
Step 2: Include the phrase "DELETE MY DATA" or "REQUEST DATA DELETION"
Step 3: Provide your phone number for verification

Method 2: Email Request

Step 1: Send an email with the subject "Data Deletion Request"
Step 2: Include your phone number and confirmation that you want your data deleted

Method 3: Direct Email

Send an email with "Data Deletion Request" in the subject line and include your phone number for verification.

What Happens Next?

Our Response Process:

  1. Confirmation (within 24 hours): We'll confirm receipt of your request via WhatsApp or email
  2. Verification (within 2-3 days): We'll verify your identity to ensure data security
  3. Processing (within 7-14 days): We'll process your deletion request and remove your data
  4. Completion Notice: We'll notify you when deletion is complete

Exceptions to Data Deletion

We may retain certain data in the following circumstances:

  • Legal Requirements: Where we are legally obligated to retain records
  • Fraud Prevention: To prevent fraudulent activity or security threats
  • Active Transactions: Data related to ongoing business transactions
  • Backup Systems: Data in backup systems will be deleted in the next backup cycle
